What can I bring to your event?

Red Flags in Plain Sight™

For leaders, teams, professional associations and audiences concerned with gambling harm or organisational risk.

I explore the warning signs we explain away and how silence, assumptions and reassuring explanations can delay action.

Three takeaways

  • Notice patterns rather than treating each warning sign in isolation.
  • Ask clearer questions when something does not add up.
  • Identify a responsible next step before concerns become a crisis.

Prison Without Bars

For conferences, community groups and organisations exploring stigma, identity and access to opportunity.

Drawing on my lived experience and TEDxKew talk, I ask how we make decisions about a person who has changed.

Three takeaways

  • Distinguish current evidence from an outdated label.
  • Recognise how judgement can restrict opportunity after change.
  • Consider how accountability and a meaningful second chance can coexist.

It’s Never Too Late to Start Again

For women’s events, professional associations, community audiences and people facing personal or career transition.

I share what rebuilding required, from prison at 61 to completing a diploma at 66, becoming an author at 67 and speaking at TEDxKew at 68. I challenge the belief that age closes the door on learning, a new career or making a useful contribution.

Three takeaways

  • Take responsibility without allowing the past to decide every future choice.
  • Challenge assumptions about age and choose a practical next step in learning, work or contribution.
  • Recognise the role that real opportunity plays in rebuilding.

Sitting on a Goldmine

For HR leaders, employers, leadership teams and workforce-development conferences.

Older workers bring knowledge, judgement, relationships and experience that organisations can overlook. I explore how employers can retain and use that knowledge, support reskilling and give experienced people opportunities to contribute.

Mentoring and learning work both ways. Experienced workers can share their practical knowledge, while younger colleagues bring fresh perspectives and skills. Teams gain when both are valued.

Keynote length: 45 minutes. Discuss any adaptation when enquiring.

Three takeaways

  • Recognise age bias and identify older workers’ knowledge and capability that your organisation may be overlooking.
  • Support retention and reskilling through practical conversations about how experienced people want to contribute.
  • Create opportunities for mentoring, knowledge transfer and learning in both directions across generations.

There is no expiry date on learning, experience or the contribution we can make.
